My favorite ways to incorporate the composers of the month include:
- have a composer of the month complete with a decorated bulletin board, listen to songs of that composer, and read books to learn about the composer
- learn songs by the composer of the month or do listening activities complete with drawing what the music makes them think of, following the melody with their hands, and echo singing
- after reading stories of the composer, do writing activities where the students describe what they learned, why they like this composer, and what they contributed to music education today
